FACT SHEET FOR STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM Each year, Beta Gamma
Chapter awards scholarships to undergraduate and graduate nursing students
at USF. Please visit this site periodically to find out when and how to
apply for these scholarships. Who is eligible?
Graduate and undergraduate students enrolled at the School of Nursing
at the University of San Francisco are eligible for the scholarship. Graduate students must have completed
10 units of graduate coursework at USF and undergraduate students must
be at least second semester juniors in the baccalaureate nursing program.
What is the criteria for selection?
Scholarships are based on academic achievement,
demonstration of or potential for leadership, clinical competence, critical
thinking skills in regards to potential research, and dedication to promoting
community service.
Does the application require a letter of recommendation?
Yes, two letters of recommendation are required for each application.
Persons writing the recommendations must have direct knowledge of the student's
abilities. What is the deadline for applications?
Applications and letters of recommendation must be received by the date
specified in the application packet, which will posted online on this
website in the next few weeks.
How much money is available?
The amount of the scholarship will vary each year.
Who chooses the recipient?
The Awards Committee of the Beta Gamma Chapter will review and recommend
the recipient to the Board of Directors. The scholarship will be awarded to the most deserving candidate who has
met the criteria for selection.
When will the scholarship be awarded?
The scholarship will be presented at the Induction and Awards Ceremony in
fall. |
